Friends for Foxx campaign wins big with five major endorsement for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx

Chicago - The Friends for Foxx campaign announced five major endorsements for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx: Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board, Illinois Gun Violence Prevention PAC and Giffords, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades - Painters District Council 14, Illinois Nurses Association PAC, and the 49th Ward Democrats. 

In making its endorsement, the Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board wrote:  “During Foxx’s tenure, the guiding philosophy of the state’s attorney’s office has undergone a sea change - and it’s a change that must continue.” 

The broad coalition of support seen on the growing list of endorsements for State’s Attorney Foxx show that she is the proven progressive in this race.

“I’m humbled by these many endorsements and the validation it means for my approach to my work and for my entire team,” said State’s Attorney Foxx. “This is a mission that takes partnership and collaboration. That is why I am grateful for the support from so many diverse voices from our institutions and communities. Together we will create the justice system Cook County deserves. Together we will continue to lead the way in criminal court reform, combating gun violence and growing justice and equity.” 

The latest endorsements follow a busy weekend for State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. The Friends for Foxx campaign held a weekend of action canvassing through the 47th Ward and opened the doors of its Bronzeville office, on Saturday, to more than 200 guests. On Sunday, State’s Attorney Foxx met with Sen. Dick Durbin and attended multiple church services to meet with faith community members and encourage civic engagement.
