ICYMI: Leader in Criminal Justice Reform Kim Foxx Announces Key Campaign Staff
(Chicago) Friday POLITICO reported campaign hires made by Kim Foxx’s re-election campaign for State’s Attorney. Chrystian Woods leads the team as campaign manager supported by Sylvia Ewing, Communications Director and Neal Stevens-Jackson, Digital Director. The trio is the first wave in a bid to continue Foxx's work to make Chicago a model for national reform.
Ms. Woods says, “Kim’s record of exonerating wrongful convictions, standing up to the NRA and President Trump’s harmful policies has proven that she is willing to stand up for the people of Cook County and do the right thing in the face of powerful opposition.” “Our job is to make sure she can continue to reform the criminal justice system in Cook County to work for everyone.”
Woods served most recently as the National Director of Outreach for the Beto O'Rourke Presidential campaign. Woods helped lead the Democratic Party of Georgia for over three years, most recently as it’s Interim Executive Director. She was the Senior Field advisor for the coordinated Campaign to elect Stacey Abrams as Governor overseeing the statewide organizing apparatus.
Sylvia Ewing, Communications Director, has worked helping nonprofits with strategy, and as a veteran broadcaster for PBS and WBEZ, among others. Ewing was Communications Campaign Manager in Chuy Garcia’s 2015 race for Mayor of Chicago. Neal Stevens-Jackson worked on the J.B. for Governor campaign as the Social Media Coordinator. Prior to the Pritzker gubernatorial campaign, Stevens-Jackson worked for the League of Conservation Voters. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University.
Ewing notes, “When you look at the body of her work, you see that Kim Foxx is on the right track. Her widespread acclaim for criminal justice reform both locally and nationally is a testament to her values and commitment to serve the people of Cook County.”
